Invading The Vintage
I’ve written a few times about artists that paint over old and unwanted paintings and prints at my portfolio blog, the most famous guy probably being Eric Joyner. However I have to admit that Italian artist and sci-fi fanatic Franco Brambilla has definitely pushed the envelope (do people say that any more?), broken the boundary, whatever he’s done, he’s done it well. Using old dodgy postcards depicting something close to a pastoral heaven on earth during the middle of the last century, Franco has upped the ante with some absolutely mind blowing digitally enhanced sci-fi kitsch. This is about as close to geek Nirvana that you will get today ;)
