Illustrated Street Art

Dane Thompson, a traditional/ graphic artist currently residing in Pennsylvania, is on a mission, a mission to create a new street art movement, it’s name is ‘DST to infinity’. His methodology makes a lot of sense too, bringing back elements of more traditional art to the street. Dane has a real knack for celebrity portraits, and I can really relate to a lot of his works, thematically at least I think we might just be on the same wavelength. For now his vision for a new wave of street art was fleshed out last summer with a poster campaign blitz. Stickers and paste-ups are the order of the day, and Dane creates all his own original artwork (not a single montage in sight) and has had the foresight to share them through Facebook, Twitter, and Flickr to build a following from the ground up. His ultimate goal is to flood the streets with great poster art paste ups that celebrate the traditional art of drawing. And he ain’t all talk either, clock these!

My absolute fave of the collection, amazing.

Fresh Prince

Damn! Dane has really captured the Prince in this one, it almost makes me hanker for the past, crap sitcoms, lightweight rapping and the 80′s when Mr. “I Am Legend” Will Smith didn’t take himself so seriously.

Dunder Mifflin in the flesh. Lol.

CAPtain Laforge

Cool! BTW when is some Japanese electronics wizard going to finally invent a pair of shades like that? Don’t mess with the CAP, or he’ll fire a phaser at yo’ ass =0

Man I grew up with this old duffer on TV, The Cosby Show was so preachy it made Will Smith look like a real rebel. Still, it’s nice to see Bill chillin’… finally!

Totally awesome sketches from Dane Thompson there, if you wanna’ hook up with the DST phenomenon you can catch him at these urls…

Great post, only coming across it now but they are brilliant. They are done on canvas? The bush one is my favourite too
