I don’t know what it is about skulls and art, or at least the fixation so many artists have over skulls. Perhaps it’s just the truth about life (i.e we all die) or maybe it’s something more mystical like ‘Dia De Los Muerto’s (The Day of The Dead celebrations in Mexico). Even I’ve have dipped my proverbial toe in with Day of the Dud. But if you’re a hardcore skull fan who cannot resist the charms of its calcified mortal frame, then get your fix with plenty more examples from The Skull Appreciation Society!

Hydro 74 aka Joshua Smith, an Orlando based designer and illustrator with some fearsome vector skills. This guy’s worked for just about everyone in every medium, but I’m particularly keen on his head $%^& prints which certainly hit the mark, if your mark is located somewhere within the pineal region of the brain ;) As you can guess a popular designer like Hydro 74 is just about sold out all the time, so it’s probably worth joining his mailing list if you’re after the next print release. In the meantime there’s plenty of other merch to choose from including boards and tees.

Sure it’s probably not art as such, but it’s a damn fine piece of Steam Punk design, and even if it’s too pricey for me (everything is these days) and I don’t ever wear jewellery or watches or anything that might just fall off without me particularly noticing. But if I did, I’d probably wear The Gear Ring. $165 via Kinekt Design.
